Channel Saver — Privacy Policy
Channel Saver is a Chrome extension for YouTube research. This page explains what data it handles, where that data goes, how long it is kept and what control you have.
1. Data stored on your computer only
- Channels, niches, saved videos, notes, tags, settings, competitor upload history and CTR Tester images are stored in your own browser (
chrome.storage.local).
- Automatic backups are saved as a file in your own Downloads folder (Channel Saver Backups).
- We do not have a copy of this data and cannot see it.
2. Data sent to our licensing server (letrestart.com)
- Your activation key, a random install id, the extension version and basic computer details are sent to letrestart.com when you activate, when the extension starts, and regularly while Chrome is open (about once a minute) to check that the key is still valid.
- The computer details are: operating system, graphics card name, number of CPU cores, memory size, screen size, language and time zone, plus a one-way hash (fingerprint) of these. They are used only to keep one key on one computer and to show the key owner which computer a key is used on.
- The server also records your IP address and browser version with each activation and check. The key owner (the LetRestart admin) can see these to prevent key sharing and abuse.
- Your IP address may show your approximate location (country / city). It is used only to prevent key sharing and abuse, never for tracking or advertising.
- The server answers with the name the key was issued to and its expiry date. Nothing else is sent: no browsing history, no YouTube activity, no saved channels.
- When you remove the extension, Chrome opens a short page on letrestart.com asking why (answering is optional). The link carries the extension version, a one-way code of your activation key and a short computer code, so the admin can see that the extension was removed and the reason you picked.
3. YouTube
- Channel Saver reads public YouTube pages (channel pages, video pages, search results) to show statistics. These requests go directly from your browser to YouTube.
- It never signs in to or changes your YouTube account, and never posts anything you did not ask for. The “Assisted reply” helper writes a reply into YouTube’s reply box for the comments you choose; you press YouTube’s own Reply button — or, only if you turn on “Send for me”, the helper presses that Reply button for you, slowly and one comment at a time. It works in your own signed-in YouTube tab; no YouTube password or data is sent to us.
4. Optional AI features (only with your own key)
- If you add your own API key for Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude or OpenAI and click an AI button, the content needed for that request (for example a thumbnail image, video titles or a comment you want a reply draft for) is sent directly from your browser to the provider you chose, under that provider’s privacy policy.
- Your API key is stored only in your browser. It is never sent to us and never included in backups.
5. What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone.
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising. The licensing server only counts how a key is used (activations, last seen) so the key owner can manage it.
- We do not collect your browsing history or your personal information.
6. How long data is kept
- Licensing data (the key, computer details, IP address, browser version and the last 40 activity entries) is kept while the key exists.
- When a key is deleted, its licensing data is deleted with it.
- To ask for your data to be deleted, contact us on facebook.com/masifghafar.
7. Your control
- Export or back up your data at any time from the extension’s dashboard.
- Remove the activation key in the extension’s settings. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of its data from your browser.
8. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The use of information received from this extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
